Global human resources giant claims rival used Dublin office employee to obtain trade secrets

Employee locked himself in toilet after being asked to hand over phone, High Court told

Rippling, a US-based HR firm, alleges a Dublin office employee, Keith O'Brien, was used by rival company Deel to unlawfully obtain trade secrets. Rippling seeks court orders compelling O'Brien to disclose confidential information shared with third parties. The High Court lifted reporting restrictions after Rippling initiated proceedings against Deel in the US alleging trade secret misappropriation. Rippling suspects O'Brien of leaking information after Deel attempted to hire Rippling employees and a journalist inquired about internal messages. O'Brien allegedly locked himself in a bathroom when asked to hand over his phone.
