Google DeepMind launches robot AI that can figure out how to ‘slam dunk’

Google DeepMind has launched Gemini Robotics and Gemini Robotics-ER, two AI models that allow robots to perform human tasks without training by providing spatial understanding and reasoning abilities. Robots equipped with the new technology can perform real-world tasks such as preparing lunch, tying shoelaces, and even slam dunking a basketball. DeepMind also introduced the ASIMOV model, a safety framework designed to align robot behavior with human values, inspired by Isaac Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics. The new AI models are currently available to trusted testers for commercial development.
