Got an EV? Use this loophole before 1 April to push Rachel Reeves' £195 car tax hike back a YEAR

The Chancellor will launch a massive car tax sting on Britain's drivers this year - but for those who own electric vehicles there is a way to defer costs for another 12 months.

The UK government is introducing a new £195 car tax for electric vehicles (EVs) starting April 1, 2025. EV owners can defer this tax by re-taxing their vehicles before April 1, allowing them to continue driving tax-free until March 2026. This change was announced by Rachel Reeves and Jeremy Hunt. Additionally, EVs costing over £40,000 will incur an extra £620 annually due to the expensive car supplement.
