Gunmen say they will BLOW UP hijacked train and execute all hostages if authorities do not meet their demands

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) held up the train and took some 400 passengers, one Pakistani official said, with around 200 of those held by the attackers thought to have been freed.

Separatist militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked a passenger train in Pakistan, taking approximately 400 passengers hostage. The BLA demands the release of its imprisoned members, threatening to blow up the train and execute the remaining 182 hostages if their demands are not met and military intervention continues. The train, the Jaffar Express, was attacked en route from Quetta to Peshawar. The BLA claims to have killed 30 government soldiers during armed combat and warns against any military advance. The area where the train is held is mountainous, aiding the militants. The BLA says it is fighting for a fairer share of Balochistan's resources and claims to have killed 30 soldiers.
