GetReal, a startup focused on deepfake detection for governments and enterprises, raised $17.5 million in Series A funding led by Forgepoint Capital. Co-founded by deepfake detection pioneer Hany Farid and incubated at Ballistic Ventures, GetReal offers tools for threat exposure, media screening, and in-depth analysis by human teams. The company, led by CEO Matt Moynahan, addresses the growing threat of malicious deepfakes and their potential for scams and national security risks.
