He may be 107, but pilot's memories of 62 World War II missions he ran are still vivid

As he gripped the controls of his bomber plane on his first war time mission, 21-year-old Harry Richardson gazed back at the British coast for what he feared was the last time.



107-year-old Flight Lieutenant Harry Richardson, one of the last surviving WWII bomber pilots, vividly remembers his 62 missions, including his first over Germany. Despite a high death rate for RAF Bomber Command aircrews, he flew Wellington and Liberator Bombers in Europe and Asia until the end of the war. His bravery will be honored at VE Day 80 celebrations.
