Heathrow flights map: Where are planes being diverted to after substation fire closes airport
A fire at a nearby electrical substation caused Heathrow Airport to close for a day, disrupting over 1,351 flights and affecting approximately 291,000 passengers. Flights were diverted to airports including Gatwick, Charles de Gaulle (Paris), Shannon (Ireland), Cardiff, and airports in Canada and the United States. Numerous flights to and from Heathrow were canceled, and some airlines, like Ryanair, arranged rescue flights.
