On February 20, 2023, the HĐND TP.HCM convened a meeting to elect Mr. Nguyễn Văn Được as the new Chairman of the UBND TP.HCM, succeeding Mr. Phan Văn Mãi, who was relieved of his duties to take on a new role. Mr. Nguyễn Văn Được, previously serving as the Secretary of the Long An Province Party Committee, was also appointed as a member of the市委 and Deputy Secretary of the市委 in TP.HCM. The meeting also addressed other issues, including organizational restructuring, financial support policies, infrastructure projects, and educational policies.
