Anyone who loses their standard travel permit on the mainland but needs to catch a train or plane will no longer have to visit public security authorities.
Hong Kong and Macau residents, along with Taiwanese citizens, can now apply for seven-day temporary mainland travel permits via a mobile app if they lose their standard permits while traveling on the mainland and need to travel domestically by plane or train. This new measure, announced by Chinese immigration authorities, allows for a quicker application process compared to the previous requirement of visiting public security authorities in person. The temporary permit cannot be used to cross mainland borders.
