Elton John's friendship with the British Royal Family began in the 1970s with Princess Margaret and grew to include multiple generations, including the late Queen Elizabeth II, with whom he shared a mutual love of music and a playful dynamic. He developed a close bond with Princess Diana through their shared activism for AIDS awareness and became a part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's inner circle later on.
