Hudson's Bay Co. has begun liquidating all but six of its stores after filing for creditor protection. The liquidation includes most of the 80 Hudson's Bay stores and the Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks Off 5th locations in Canada. Six stores will remain open for now: the flagship Yonge Street location in Toronto, a store in Yorkdale mall, and another at Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The company will vacate the stores by June 30. Discounts are expected to increase over time, following the Nordstrom model.
