Huge sadness at passing of Ruby Druce, Ireland’s oldest person

Ruby Druce, Ireland's oldest person, has died at 109 in her native Castlefinn. Born in 1915, she celebrated her birthday on New Year’s Eve with her niece, Carmel and Carmel’s husband Martin. She was the oldest living resident since August last year. She married Jim Druce in 1956, who passed 14 years later. She is survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
