
The amount of money spent on an investigation into the disgraced newsreader has been revealed
The BBC spent almost £5 million investigating the Huw Edwards and Tim Westwood scandals, including £340,843 in external legal fees, £958,133 on a review of complaints policies, and £70,000 on additional resources. Edwards received a suspended sentence and the BBC requested he return his salary for the period following his arrest until his resignation. The BBC also spent £3.3 million investigating allegations against Tim Westwood.
