Lord Brocket was found guilty of failing to accord precedence to a pedestrian after a trial at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Lord Brocket was found guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court of failing to give way to a pedestrian on a zebra crossing while riding a moped. He was fined £346, with additional costs and points on his license, after video evidence showed him driving through the crossing as the pedestrian began to cross. Brocket claimed his view was partially obscured and an emergency stop would have been dangerous, but the magistrate ruled he should have been driving at a speed that allowed him to stop.
