The Uttar Pradesh jail administration is making arrangements to bring holy water from Prayagraj's Sangam to 75 jails across the state, allowing inmates to participate in the Maha Kumbh.
The Uttar Pradesh jail administration is arranging for inmates in 75 jails, including seven central prisons, to bathe in holy water from the Kumbh's Sangam on February 21. The 'gangajal' will be mixed with regular water and stored in tanks within the jails. Over 90,000 inmates will participate in this program, which includes a bath after prayers. Similar arrangements have already been made in some jails, with additional opportunities for inmates to participate.
