Inside secret nuclear bunker just 15 minutes from Cheltenham Racecourse

A nuclear bunker posed to protect members of government from a nuclear threat is located around 15 minutes from Cheltenham Racecourse, and still visible for passers-by

A secret nuclear bunker, designed to protect government officials from a nuclear attack, is located in Ullenwood, a Cotswold village about 15 minutes from Cheltenham Racecourse. Built to withstand a nuclear blast, the bunker was sold to Gloucestershire County Council in 1963 and repurposed as an emergency center. Ullenwood, along with a bunker in Hope Cove, Devon, was to serve as the government's South West headquarters in the event of nuclear war.
