Instagram is introducing new features to its direct messaging (DM) system, including music sharing, message scheduling, translation across 99 languages, and message pinning. These updates aim to enhance Instagram's messaging capabilities, making it more competitive with platforms like Apple’s iMessage. The music-sharing feature allows users to share 30-second song previews from Instagram’s library, appealing to younger users and artists. Message scheduling lets users send messages up to 29 days in advance, while pinning allows up to three messages per conversation to be fixed at the top of chats.
