James McGarry suffers nightmare start in Greece as Aberdeen loanee learns extent of knee problem

James McGarry, an Aberdeen loanee at Kallithea, suffered a setback when he was ruled out for four to six weeks with a Grade 1-2 left semitendinosus muscle strain in his knee during a match against Panaitolikos. The injury is a blow for both McGarry, who moved to Greece to secure first-team football after falling behind Jack MacKenzie and Alexander Jensen at Aberdeen, and struggling Kallithea. McGarry, signed by Barry Robson from Central Coast Mariners in 2023, has another year left on his Aberdeen contract beyond the current loan.
