JPNN.com, JAKARTA - Mantan Ketua Mahkamah Konstitusi, Jimly Asshiddiqie, mengatakan, dengan melihat beban kerja Kepolisian, maka kewenangan kejaksaan dalam penyidikan langsung perkara tertentu bisa ditambahkan. Asalkan jelas jenis tindak pidana tertentunya, dan diatur dalam ketentuan UU.
Jimly Asshiddiqie, a former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, has proposed expanding the investigative powers of the public prosecutor's office to assist the police with their workload. He suggests that specific criminal cases, such as corruption and money laundering, could be handled by the prosecutors, provided they are clearly defined in existing laws. Jimly also mentions that this proposal could be discussed in the DPR (Indonesian Parliament) and advocates for integrating various legal regulations into a unified system to streamline the legal process.
