Interior Minister Juan José Santiváñez told Congress that he believes there is a smear campaign against him, exaggerating insecurity and sabotaging his work. He also criticized the Public Ministry for searching his home twice and suggested that security is being used as a political weapon. His statements come before a debate on motions to censure him, with at least three motions pending.
