An atelier organized by the International Labour Organization (OIT) in Kébili, Tunisia, focused on the date sector and the sustainability of the oasian system. The workshop aimed to address opportunities and challenges in this key economic sector, which covers approximately 67% of cultivated land. Discussions highlighted challenges such as water resource management and traditional irrigation systems, crucial for the ecosystem, especially amid drought and climate change. Recommendations included enhancing local skills in natural resource management and fostering stakeholder collaboration.
