Adam Kinzinger dared Donald Trump to arrest him after Trump claimed that pardons issued by Joe Biden to January 6th committee members, including Kinzinger, were "void" due to the alleged use of an autopen, a claim also made by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project. Kinzinger challenged Trump to bring charges, asserting he would be defeated in court and pointing out Trump's attempts to distract from negative perceptions of him regarding January 6th. Legal experts have noted that the use of an autopen, also used by Trump and Obama, does not invalidate pardons, especially after their delivery, according to an 1868 ruling.
