South Korea’s Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. issued the first green bond in Asia whose proceeds can be used to finance nuclear energy projects, according to the company.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP) issued Asia's first green bond to finance nuclear energy projects, raising HK$1.2 billion ($154 million) from global investors. The funds will improve nuclear plant safety and support R&D for advanced reactors, enabling KHNP to pursue projects at lower interest rates amid a global resurgence of nuclear energy.
