Nach Angaben eines hochrangigen Hamas-Führers sollen am Donnerstag die Leichen von vier Geiseln übergeben werden. Unter den Toten sollen auch Shiri Bibas und ihre beiden Kleinkinder sein.
Hamas has agreed to hand over the remains of four Israeli hostages, including Shiri Bibas and her two children, on Thursday. Progress has been made in indirect talks between Israel and Hamas, with Hamas planning to release six live hostages on Saturday. In exchange, Israel will release all remaining Palestinian prisoners from the first phase of the ceasefire. The agreement involves the release of 33 hostages in exchange for 1,904 prisoners, with 14 captives, including eight dead, still in Hamas' custody. The next phase of talks will focus on releasing more hostages for a long-term ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal. Israel has rejected transferring civil control of Gaza to the Palestinian Authority. A Cairo summit, initially scheduled for late February, has been postponed to March 4. Meanwhile, U.S. plans to develop Gaza under Trump's revised vision have been scaled back.
