Billionaire has taken legal action over his view that Co Tipperary lands should have been sold to his family rather than construction magnate
John Magnier is in a High Court dispute with the owners of Barne Estate over a purported €15 million deal to purchase the property, which they allegedly reneged on to sell to Maurice Regan for a higher price. Magnier's lawyers claim Regan is funding the Barne Estate's defense and that newly discovered documents show Regan "bullying and threatening" custodians and inducing a breach of an exclusivity agreement. The Barne Estate denies the existence of the agreement and states they sold to Regan for €22.5 million.
