Luc Rémont is leaving his position as CEO of EDF after months of tense negotiations with the French government, EDF's sole shareholder, over electricity prices and the slow progress of the EPR2 program. His departure follows criticism regarding high electricity prices and government pressure to control nuclear program costs. He was appointed in November 2022 to revive nuclear production and launch a new reactor construction program.
