Lightwave eHealth questions NHIA audit, flags missing GH₵10.45 million

Eric Adjei, Project Coordinator for Lightwave eHealth Solutions, has raised concerns over what he describes as irregularities in the audit process conducted by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) into the company’s operations. Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show, he suggested that some issues may be linked to personal or institutional conflicts rather than genuine procedural lapses. According to Adjei, Lightwave, the developers of the Lightwave Health Information Management System (LHIMS), has cooperated with audits and investigations, but the involvement of a competitor in the process raises questions about impartiality. “We do not have any problem with any institution going to do an audit or investigation. But again, why do you send a competitor to go do an audit?” he asked. The coordinator further disclosed that GH₵10.45 million, initially allocated to Lightwave from NHIA funds, was redirected to the auditing institution in 2024.
