Linlithgow MSP pleased with additional funding for women and girls groups

The funding boost will bring the total Scottish Government investment in Delivering Equally Safe, which funds projects to prevent violence and support survivors, up to £21.6 million for the year ahead subject to the 2025-26 Scottish Budget being approved.

Linlithgow MSP Fiona Hyslop has expressed her approval of a £2.4 million funding increase for organizations working to prevent violence against women and girls in Scotland. This boost, subject to the 2025-26 Scottish Budget approval, brings the total investment in the Delivering Equally Safe program to £21.6 million. The funding will support over 100 organizations, including Children First, Rape Crisis Scotland, and Scottish Women’s Aid. Notably, West Lothian Council and West Lothian Women’s Aid will receive support to address gender-based violence locally. Hyslop highlighted the crucial role of grassroots organizations in West Lothian and the importance of providing support to women and girls affected by violence.
