Major charity shop will close more than half their UK stores in fresh blow to High Street

The charity shop will shut 39 of its 138 shops in the coming days amid declining footfall and spiralling costs. A further 31 have been earmarked for closure between April 1 and March 31 next year.

Scope, a disability charity, will close more than half of its UK stores (39 immediately and a further 31 by March next year) due to declining footfall, spiraling costs, and increased online shopping. This follows a prior warning of potential closures and job losses. The charity suffered a £1.5 million loss this financial year.
