Malaysia terus jadi transit, 102 tan dadah dirampas sejak Mac 2024

Malaysia remains a transit point for drugs, with 102 tons seized since March 2024, valued at RM1.67 billion. The drugs include synthetic and conventional types, such as methamphetamine, cannabis, and ecstasy. The police have dismantled 219 syndicates, arresting 675 individuals, with a total of 248,885 arrests, mostly for positive urine tests. Additionally, 719 public servants were arrested, with 365 due to positive urine tests. Datuk Seri Khaw Kok Chin, head of the Narcotics Investigation Department, stated that Malaysia is a transit point due to high demand, particularly for methamphetamine from Thailand destined for Australia and Europe. The Thai military confirmed that these drugs are processed in northern Thailand before being transported to Malaysia.
