Manchester United reveal true cost of sacking Erik ten Hag in latest financial figures

The Dutchman was replaced by Ruben Amorim earlier this season as the club sought improvements on the pitch

Manchester United incurred a £14.5 million cost due to the in-season sacking of Erik ten Hag and the departure of Dan Ashworth, as they appointed Ruben Amorim. Ten Hag was dismissed in October after a poor start to the Premier League and underwhelming finishes in his two full seasons, despite leading the team to an FA Cup victory. The compensation package for Ten Hag and his staff amounted to £10.4 million, while Ashworth's exit cost £4.1 million. These figures were revealed in the club's financial accounts for the final three months of 2024.
