Met Office issues warning as freezing rain forecast in parts of UK

Snowfall and freezing rain are forecast in certain parts of the country before 'spring-like' temperatures hit the UK later in the week.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for freezing rain and up to 5cm of snow, particularly affecting southern Scotland, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the Borders, which may disrupt transportation. Freezing rain, a rare phenomenon, can create icy roads or damage trees. Later in the week, temperatures will rise to spring-like levels, with highs exceeding average norms. However, from Thursday, rain and strong winds will affect the West, Wales, parts of Scotland, northern England, and the South West.
