Meta plans to deploy a 50,000-kilometer undersea cable system connecting the US, South Africa, India, Brazil, and other regions to enhance global data transmission for artificial intelligence and other applications. The project, part of Meta's infrastructure innovation efforts, aims to strengthen international connectivity and support high-speed data needs, particularly for AI-driven technologies and cloud computing, using industry-leading 24 fibre pairs for enhanced capacity.
