Ukrainian president is travelling for a high-stakes meeting in Washington
During a meeting at Shannon Airport, Taoiseach Micheál Martin assured President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Ireland's strong support for Ukraine's accelerated EU membership. Ireland will also contribute to a program to feed Ukrainian schoolchildren and a "food for Syria" program. Martin described ending the war as a "noble" objective and reaffirmed Ireland's commitment to supporting Ukrainian refugees. Zelenskiy was traveling to the US for a meeting with President Trump.
