MIT community members elected to the National Academy of Engineering for 2025

MIT announced that eight researchers and 13 alumni have been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) for 2025, recognizing their significant contributions to engineering. The elected researchers include:
- Mary Beth Gallagher (School of Engineering) for contributions to nonlinear electrochemical and electrokinetic phenomena.
- Dimitris J. Bertsimas (Sloan School of Management) for advances in data-driven decision-making and optimization.
- Douglas C. Arnold (School of Engineering) for contributions to computational mathematics and finite element methods.
- Yoel Fink (Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) for innovations in photonic fibers and functional fabrics.
- Tomás Lozano-Pérez (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) for contributions to robotics and artificial intelligence.
- Karen K. Gleason (Chemical Engineering) for pioneering work in polymer chemistry and 3D printing.
- Anantha P. Chandrakasan (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) for leadership in energy-efficient electronics.
- John Lienhard (Mechanical Engineering) for contributions to thermodynamics and sustainable energy.
