Among the 17% who speak another language alongside German, 25% primarily use German, and 75% use another language. Turkish (14%), Russian (12%), and Arabic (9%) are the most common non-German languages. There are 15.6 million people who mainly speak another language at home. Of the 21.2 million with immigration backgrounds, 22% speak only German at home, and half speak German plus another language. Among these, 20% primarily use German, and 80% use another language. Data shows 75% of immigrants rated their German skills as good or very good.
