From August 1 it will be illegal to possess, sell, make or import the weapon in the final part of anti-knife crime measures come into force under Ronan's Law, named after Ronan Kanda.
A UK ban on ninja swords is set to take effect this summer, following a campaign led by Pooja Kanda, whose 16-year-old son Ronan was murdered with one in 2022. "Ronan's Law" will make it illegal to possess, sell, make, or import ninja swords, with potential penalties including imprisonment. The government will run a surrender scheme before the ban takes effect on August 1st.
