Noel Clarke loses appeal court bid ahead of libel trial with Guardian publisher

The trial is due to begin on March 3.

Noel Clarke's appeal to amend his libel claim against The Guardian's publisher, Guardian News and Media (GNM), was rejected by the Court of Appeal. The libel trial, involving allegations of sexual misconduct, is set to begin on March 3, 2025. Clarke had sought to add six more defendants to his case, but the court ruled it would be unfair to do so close to the trial date. The court also dismissed a previous attempt to strike out GNM's defense, though Clarke's legal team plans to appeal that decision.
