Bohmerwald, owner of Components Cooper Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to attempting to export accelerometers with military applications to China without the required U.S. export license. The U.S. company detected the purchase and alerted authorities. Bohmerwald shipped the devices, underreporting their value, and admitted to knowingly violating export restrictions. A government official noted the disruption of the scheme to illegally export sensitive technology.
