Notorious former Vancouver SRO to house Road to Recovery patients, after Beedie purchase

Members of the local business community said they are hopeful the new tenants will be a good fit for the neighbourhood.

The notorious, vacant London Hotel in Vancouver's Chinatown, purchased by Beedie Group, will reopen later this year as transitional housing for 50 patients in St. Paul’s Hospital’s Road to Recovery program. Renovations are nearing completion, with Providence Health starting the planning process in May 2024. The Road to Recovery initiative aims to provide a full spectrum of addiction treatment services. A previous city grant to the former operator, Atira Women’s Resource Society, was never disbursed.
