SpaceX's Starship exploded during its eighth test flight after losing contact minutes after launch. An "energetic event" at the rear of the Starship caused the loss of multiple Raptor engines and subsequent loss of control. The explosion resulted in debris and temporary flight restrictions at several Florida airports, causing flight delays and diversions. The FAA had approved the test flight.
