Savvy appointment by then county board boss Michael Duignan may yet be franked as side on cusp of promotion
Mickey Harte, joint manager of Offaly's senior football team, led them to the brink of promotion to Division Two. Despite his age, Harte took the Offaly position after stepping down as Derry manager. Former county board chairman Michael Duignan was impressed by Harte's knowledge and enthusiasm. Harte's previous managerial successes include league titles with Tyrone and Derry.
