The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has criticised Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin for what he describes as inconsistent and partisan handling of the Kpandai parliamentary re-run issue. Speaking on Joy Midday News, the MP questioned why the Speaker allowed the Clerk to notify the Electoral Commission (EC) of a vacancy despite a pending motion for stay of execution filed at the court. According to him, the Speaker’s position contradicts previous practice where legal processes were allowed to conclude before a vacancy was declared in similar cases.
