Pair of soldiers who plotted to sell cannabis are spared jail

Two unnamed British Army soldiers, referred to as Defendant X and Defendant Y, avoided jail after plotting to sell over £8,000 worth of cannabis. Defendant Y admitted intent to supply 997 grams of cannabis, while Defendant X admitted possession. They were caught after police found cannabis hidden by Defendant X's wife. Despite discussing selling 2.3 kilos of cannabis in messages, the judge, citing their exemplary military service and genuine remorse, spared them prison and ordered them to pay £200 in costs each.
