Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) experienced increased patient activity in 2024, with outpatient appointments up by 12,120 and 42,561 new patients added to the waiting list. Despite this, outpatient waiting lists decreased by 3%, with a significant reduction in those waiting over 15 months (61%) and over three years (100%). The hospital also saw a rise in older patients attending the Emergency Department, but trolley waits decreased by 15%.
