Law enforcement warns iPhone users about a scam involving text messages claiming an "investigation is being finalized," urging recipients to call back immediately to avoid legal action. The Sheriff's Office advises to delete and report such messages, as law enforcement will never demand money or conduct official business via text, call, or email. The FBI also warns of "smishing" texts impersonating toll collection services aiming to steal personal information; report these to IC3, check accounts on legitimate websites, and delete the text.
