Australian research, a meta-analysis of 35 studies with almost 25,000 participants, found no significant differences in relationship and sexual satisfaction between people in polyamorous, open, or "monogamish" relationships and those in monogamous relationships. Researchers suggest that infidelity, a common cause of monogamous relationship breakdowns, is less relevant in non-monogamous relationships due to pre-existing agreements.
