‘Poorer children mixing with wealthier peers can lead to higher earnings’

Research indicates that children from low-income families who grow up in areas with more cross-class friendships experience higher earnings (approximately £5,100 more per year on average) and improved happiness and wellbeing as adults. This economic connectedness, often fostered through activities like sports, leads to greater upward mobility.
