‘Power bank fire’ on Hong Kong Airlines flight forces plane to divert to Fuzhou

Flight from the mainland city of Hangzhou safely diverted to Fuzhou after a fire broke out in one of its overhead compartments.



A Hong Kong Airlines flight HX115 from Hangzhou to Hong Kong diverted to Fuzhou after a fire broke out in an overhead compartment, suspectedly caused by a power bank. The Airbus A320 landed safely in Fuzhou, and passengers will be flown to Hong Kong on a replacement aircraft. The Civil Aviation Department is investigating the incident.
