Ministrul de Interne Cătălin Predoiu a subliniat la prima reuniune a Consiliului JAI după aderarea completă a României și Bulgariei la Schengen, că lucrurile funcționează foarte bine la granițele celor două state.
Minister of Interior Cătălin Predoiu stated at the JAI Council meeting following Romania and Bulgaria's Schengen accession that things are working well at the borders. He emphasized Romania's capacity to manage the Schengen system and a decrease in migration since implementation. Predoiu highlighted the need for increased collaboration to combat illegal migration, organized crime, and drug trafficking, particularly in European ports. He mentioned Romania's readiness for the Entry/Exit System (EES) and hopes for its operationalization by the EU in October.
